From a careful selection of grapes from our 60-year-old vineyards we produce a very small quantity of this wine only in the most suitable years, from 100% Sangiovese.
This wine is the result of a challenge; in our area in recent decades, with the trend of muscular wines. Sangiovese has been relegated to a the role of supporting actor, while others search for wines or power and intense color that are difficult to drink.
Our intent is to demonstrate that by working well, the wines from Sangiovese del Piceno can stand up to the Tuscan wines very well. Our Sorlivio ages for 22 months in new barriques and spends at least 24 in bottle before release.
Characterized by notes of red fruit and aged balsamic, sharp acidity and refined tannin. The name is a dedication to our grandfather Livio, he was not a "sor" at the time as this nickname belonged only to the landowners, it is a posthumous homage for his life of sacrifices to redeem the land on which he worked a lifetime and ensure a better future for the family. On the label "Controluce" by the local artist Nazario Ricchi.
